Constructed for the exhibit Waste Not Want Not: Creating Through Recycling, in the main lobby of the Human Ecology Building at the University of Alberta.  The opening is this Thursday, October 6 from 4:30-6:30, in combination with a really excellent vintage sale.  I hope to see you there!

Having slightly more time than usual to expend on projects, since school has finished up for the semester, I have decided to learn leathercraft.  Here are two of my first projects, they could both use a bit of improvement but I feel like they are pretty good for my first tries.

Bow is finished! Glass beads on cotton backing, finished with a  leather back and centre piece.

Finally, school is done and I have time to work on projects that I have been procrastinating for a good six months.  A beading pattern based on a rococo wall paper sample.  Its going to be a lovely rococo hair bow when I am all finished, which, given my current pace, could be another six months from now.

A Missoni textile sewn up into a little mini dress. It reminds me of Demi Moore’s mum in the movie Now and Then. Nothing says mid life crisis like really loud prints and really short hemlines.

A picture of my knitted skirt, apologies for being so belated.
